Our Lady of Mercy parish is preparing a number of celebrations in honor of its Centennial year, from June 2010 thru June 2011.
At this time we would like to invite you to an Open House and Liturgy for all OLM graduates.
Come celebrate with us on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm in Ryan Hall (church basement). There is a 5:00pm Liturgy in church.
Please join us at a time most convenient for you. Tour the school (you'll see a change), visit with other alumni, share memories and thoughts. All while enjoying complementary light refreshments.
In order to help us prepare sufficiently for this gathering, please respond in one of the following ways:

History Committee
WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORIES
OLM’s Centennial Anniversary History Committee is helping you prepare for the 100th Year Celebration of Our Lady of Mercy Parish. The Committee would like you to help us build the history of the Parish by telling us stories about your life in the Parish. We can schedule interviews after any of the Masses or we can make arrangements to interview at a time more convenient for you.

In anticipation of our 100 year anniversary, Our Lady of Mercy will be remodeling the rectory steps, offering parishioners and friends the opportunity to purchase one of the commemorative bricks that will make up the new stairs. These customized bricks can be inscribed with any individual sentiment, family name, or devotion honoring the memory of a loved one, while helping with future church maintenance and beautification.
The bricks are available in three sizes: 4"x8", 8"x8", 12"x12"

Corpus Christi – The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ– Calls us to see Jesus Christ in the sharing of the Eucharist and to help make him present in the activities of our daily lives. How fitting, it is, on this day to begin the celebration of our Jubilee year– A year of prayer , thanksgiving, reconciliation and hope! Next June 2011 will mark the founding of our parish remembering that people like us have worshipped, celebrated the Eucharist, taught the Catholic Faith and shared good news that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We, as the Body of Christ, have through our worship and Christian service on Troy Street contributed to creating a more just community for all immigrants who have arrived at OLM for 99 years. And that justice has hopefully radiated beyond our parish family to bring the peace of Christ to a world in great hunger for true peace. Thank you all who are here today to inaugurate this Centennial Year: Let us pray for those unable to join us and in particular all of our former parishioners who have died for whose sacrifice and dedication we are most grateful. This next year will be a time of many special gatherings and I hope you will join us.
